Understand the nature of mind- 90% of thoughts in your mind are negative. Its the very nature of mind to present you with all negative thoughts. Its made to work like that. It works on survival principle. That's why it comes with all those negative stuff all the time. Feelings like anger, annoy, resentful, remorseful, guilty are absolutely natural. They are signs of normal mind. The problem is we get stuck with these feelings. We tend to relive them again and again.
You feel guilty, you apologize and that's over. Its called healthy guilty because its functional. Then you let it go. But what happens with majority of people is that they get into loop of these thoughts. They keep beating themselves up for no reason. To make it more clear, let's understand depression and anxiety. These both are states of mind that are created due to overthinking. You are not letting your thoughts to flow, you are engaging with them and reliving them repeatedly. Just let them pass. Let them go. You are not your thoughts.
Working of mind- Now go back into your past and notice that whenever something bad, or negative has occurred in your life, have you focused on just real facts? Be honest with yourself. The answer here is no. The mind just amplifies the negativity and tries to create false narratives. The reason why you do that is because you need recognition and you are in habit of blaming things. You hardly take responsibility during bad times because it hurts your ego and you can't admit your mistake. Mind will always amplify negative and painful emotions because your ego needs it to live.
Ego is false self that has been created unconsciously with your mind. This false self helps you to be stable in outside world but gives you a lot of pain inside. You are always judging yourself on basis of weight, color, height, career and certain other aspects and this is what ego needs. Its often called inner critic. You never feel enough. You constantly beat yourself up by this judgment. That's the reason why people often give up on challenges like loosing weight, because their mind keeps on judging and telling them that they can't do that. They associate with this pain and then try to avoid this pain by giving up.
All mental pain is internal conflict. You hurting and fighting you. Stop it, understand that its a mental defect and stop it.
Be a watcher. The real self is who listens to all that crap which mind keeps on telling you. You are not your thoughts. However, you can transform the nature of your mind by feeding or reprogramming your subconscious mind.
